Starved for Love (a succubus/incubus love story)

The trees topped a hill about half a mile from the house on the edge of our property, close to the woods. I ambled toward them, letting my tennis shoes drag over the grass until I saw a redhead in one of the trees.
Damn, Rose had beaten me. I searched the orchard and spotted Adele.
She waved. “Slowpoke.”
I sighed. I hadn’t noticed that the other baskets had been missing on the counter. I guess dishes were on my agenda after all. I climbed the closest tree, hanging my basket on a branch, and started to pick.
“You’re awfully quiet this morning, Pia.” Adele stayed on the ground as she picked. Last year she broke her wrist when she’d fallen from a tree. “How was your date? Will there be more?”
Ah, the real reason behind the apple picking came out. I sighed. “It was nice. We haven’t made any other arrangements so I don’t know if I’ll see him again.”
They were quiet and I twisted around to see they were both staring at me. “What?”
“Details.” Rose just about growled. She could sound like a shifter when she wanted to.
“He made me a nice dinner—”
“He cooks? Bonus. And?” Both of their baskets remained ignored.
“He fed me. We talked a little about his wives.” I picked a few more apples. There wasn’t that much to report except I really liked him. He made me feel special.
“As in spoon-fed? That’s a little old-fashioned. Something Dad would do.” Rose made an unpleasant face. “Let’s get to the good stuff. Was he good in bed?”
I laughed. “I couldn’t tell you. We didn’t have sex.”
Rose crossed her arm. “The male has made a serious effort to court you and you couldn’t put out?”
Shaking my head, I picked a rotting apple from a close-by branch and tossed it at her. With the grace of a dancer, she sidestepped my shot.
I sighed. “He’s the one who said no.”

The Omegas from The Vanguards series only $0.99 everywhere

Daedalus watched Sugar’s heart-shaped ass wiggle back down the hall. She was ravishing. He would never mix business with pleasure, but she didn’t belong to the pack. Just a friendly human neighbor.
 Bonus.

She reminded him of the 1950’s pin-up poster girls, pretty and full of luscious curves. He still kept those posters in storage some where.

Sugar. He would like to ignite her sweetness into a passionate inferno. Maybe she’d even sting a little. He hoped so.

Daedalus saw the flush of color bloom on her cheeks and felt those hard tiny nipples as she brushed against him. He wanted her to turn and look at him one more time before she disappeared behind a door.

The Omegas began wrestling with his coffin again. “Can we call you Daedalus?” one of them piped up.

Sugar glanced back at him.

“No.” He gave her a shameless wink.

SNEAK PEEK of Release, available Oct. 21st.

Sun shone on my face as I sat in the park. Cool grass tickled my toes and a breeze played with the curls along my neck. I touched them. Hadn’t I cut my hair? I held a cone in my other hand and vanilla flavored ice cream melted slowly. I'd better eat it quickly.

Suddenly my bench flipped back and I smacked my head on the grass that felt more like concrete. “My ice cream.” I flailed and came into contact with something solid. The smack sounded like flesh on flesh.
I opened my eyes to Tane's face hovering over mine. What the fuck was he doing in the sun? Blinking in the dim light of oil lamps, I took in my real surroundings of hardwood floors and old Venetian building. It had been only a dream. Instead of lying on the cool grass in a park, I was on the floors of Catarina’s home twisted in blankets. I wish Tane had waited until I’d eaten the damn cone.
