Time Warp

Where does the time go?

We've all wondered this at some point in our life. I think the more deadlines I'm given, appointments that are made, and schedules that I follow the faster time flows. Is this scientific fact? *sigh* Not yet.

I want to make life simple again. To live day by day and not worry about next week or next month. Life should slow down and give me time to smell the roses. I can't remember the last time I was bored or idle. It's an art form I've lost with age.

Can you stand a slower pace?

Please, if you find some idle time, share it!

At the moment, I'm enjoying the fast pace. I have slowed down a bit from the summer, but I like being busy (with writing) I'll let you know a year from now if I feel the same way. ;-)

My head is still spinning from the last round of edits. They always arrive within days of each other. Now I have to reaquaint myself with my WIP. LOL It's been so long since I touched it.

Hey Annie

I miss the fast pace life. I kinda want it back. Yes it does make the time go by faster, but on the other hand it keeps me occupied.

Like I have said before, I come from the city and moved to the country and well time kinda slows way down here, no one is in a hurry, the rush is well five people at a stop light and in a way I like it but yeah I need the noise and the congestion, but then again ask me a year from now when Im editing and taking Chey to soccer and everything else.

Ash!

I have to admit I prefer a much slower pace for reasons to myriad to list. I need to be able to come up for air every now and again. It doesn't make for a prolific writer but the pace suits me just fine for the time being.

Great post, Annie!

Hey Annie!

This post really hits close to home for me!

Time waits for no one. There is simply not enough time in the day to accomplish everything I want, not without sacrificing a few hours of sleep. Just recently I have been actually going to bed right after my daughters, and have kind of taken a small break from working on WIPs. I have only been focusing on editing one story, because I'm just burnt out I think.

I have even started back with my exercise. For months, I've been neglecting that, and that isn't a good thing, not with the genes I have. lol

It is dead here at work, so I've been cleaning out email from work and Yahoo. I'm stopping to take the time to go to my fellow authors' blogs and website because I think support is the biggest thing in our craft, especially from fellow authors.

Taking one day at a time is best, so your mind isn't scattered in all different directions.

Edits, oh boy, edits!!! I enjoy the learning process, but sometimes I need to step away from them. I printed out my story I'm editing for Eirelander, trying to go over everything with a fine tooth comb before sending back to Lee.

Once again Annie, awesome post. I can totally relate to everything!

Wouldn't it be nice to make things simple? Like when we were children. Do you think our kids have simple lives because I think my children's are much more complicated than mine were

Annie Nicholas said...

I agree with you Rebecca. I find my children's life much more complicated. They seem to have more stuff to worry about. If it's not someone trying to steal them then there is peer pressure or keeping up with the 'Jones'. I try REAL hard to keep things in perspective for them. That what they think is important may not be in relation to the world.

Annie,

I used to like the fast-paced life when I worked full time, but not any more. I'm just tired, I think. I want to go slower.

Great topic

Hey Annie

Slow pace? What in heaven's name is that??? I don't remember when life was ever slow for me, and frankly, I think I'd have a breakdown if tings went slow or suddenly stopped. I cannot remain idle, and I even have this crochet handbag I make in the time where I cannot be reading/writing/editting, just because I cannot not be doing something with my hands.
I know, totally not healthy, but that's how I thrive and thank goodness the folks at home understand that too!

Hugs

Z, I think you are the busiest person I know. I don't know how you do it.
